Bud Walterhouse, Senior Pastor
Pastor Bud grew up as a “PK” (preacher’s kid) with an older sister and three younger brothers. He gave his heart to Jesus Christ at a young age and since that time has sought a life of fellowship with the Lord. Sensing God’s guidance into ministry after his freshman year at Bethel College (Mishawaka, IN), transitioning to a Biblical Literature major was fitting and good. After graduating from Bethel in 1983, Pastor Bud served the Pleasant View Missionary Church in Lakeville, IN as their pastor until 1986. In September of ’86, he was hired to serve as the Youth Pastor at St. Mark Missionary Church in Mishawaka, IN. After nearly five years of youth ministry, Pastor Bud returned to the role of senior pastor
at LaPorte Missionary Church in LaPorte, IN where he served for eleven years (1991-2002). It was during his years at LPMC that he completed his Masters of Ministry degree from Bethel College (May, 1997). The Lord led Pastor Bud and his family to California Road Missionary Church in Elkhart, IN where he has been serving since July, 2002. Pastor Bud & Cris have been married since December 10th, 1983 and have loved being parents to their four children (Dale, Calvin, Dori, and Anna). Their children have blessed them with their growing families . . . Dale with his beautiful bride, Sarah (Ortmann), and their three children Lorri, Corin, and Edmond; Calvin with his son, Salvador; Dori with her husband, Caleb Stinson; and Anna with her husband, Stephen Matteson. For fun, Pastor Bud enjoys science and nature, especially Elkhart Conservation Club.
He also enjoys sailing, using their pizza oven, and various building projects!
Cris Walterhouse, Children's Ministry Director
CRMC is within fifteen minutes of Cris’ two childhood homes and churches. Both places provided Cris and her four brothers with environments where their relationships with the Lord were nurtured and encouraged. Provision was made for Cris to attend Bethel College (Mishawaka, IN), graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies (1983). Following God’s lead into ministry partnership with Bud was fluid, and Cris has always counted it a pleasure and privilege to work alongside him. Since January of 2016, Cris has focused much of her ministry time on children. She finds incredible joy in sharing God’s Word with these precious ones and loves the beauty of custom-fitting Bible lessons to meet the learning styles and needs of the students she shares with. Blessed with a wide range of resources that include gifted partners in ministry, props, and supplies, the love of Jesus is shared at every opportunity.
For Cris, who is a “Domestic Engineer” at heart, loving her family – many of whom live far away – requires a different approach! Cris accepts the challenge and creatively uses her coupon hobby to meet needs in a variety of ways.
Katya Dolgykh, Website Manager
Katya was born outside of the United States into a big city called Kharkov located in Ukraine (a country just west of Russia). Her parents were able to move her (and her older sister) when she was just 7 years old to the U.S.A. Life in America changed the future for many, including Katya. After finishing high school and a year of college, Katya was given an opportunity to travel to Russia for a missionary trip to an orphanage where she happened to meet her future husband, who also immigrated to the United States. Eduard and Katya got married May 2nd, 2015 in Elkhart, IN. Katya is currently employed at Concord Junior High School and as Website Manager at CRMC.
