1 Corinthians 15:50-58

Read 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. How does this passage fit with what has preceded it?

Read verse 50. Why can’t flesh and blood inherit the kingdom of God?

Just what is the mystery in verse 51?

What do you think is entailed in the change Paul speaks of in verse 52, when he says that “we will be changed”?

What does Paul mean by “imperishable” (King James, “incorruption”)?

What do you think Paul means by calling sin the “sting of death”?

In what sense has God given us the victory (v. 57)?

Read 1 Corinthians 15:58. When you think about how this verse applies to you personally, what is the “work of the Lord” that God has called you to labor at? Do you ever get discouraged with your work or think that your efforts might be in vain? If so, where does the discouragement or frustration come from?

Paul says that we should “always” give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord.  Is he exaggerating when he uses the word “always”? What about all the other stuff we have to get done in life?

How is it significant that 1 Corinthians 15:58 comes at the end of Paul’s long discussion of the resurrection? What does Jesus’ resurrection and our future resurrection have to do with our present labors in the Lord?

What does Paul mean by “let nothing move you”? How is this possible?

How do we know that our labor in the Lord is not in vain? What is my labor in the Lord does not seem to be producing any results?
